Work Environment: NGL offers a flexible work environment where employees can work fully remote, hybrid or onsite at our Madison, Wis. office. We support virtual working arrangements in certain states outside of WI.
A Day in the Life:
The Systems Administrator is a skilled and experienced member of NGL’s technology team. The successful candidate operates under minimal supervision in an agile team environment and plays a pivotal role in building, maintaining, protecting, and improving our operating environment across platforms. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and administrating technical solutions with impacts across the organization. We are open to hiring at all levels of this position. Associate, Able and Senior.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, software, and hardware
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems
- Enable faster and smarter business processes, and develop analytics for meaningful insights
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain software and hardware technology solutions
- Manage domain accounts and permissions
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements and standards
- Troubleshoot issues and outages and assist other teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Partner with colleagues to help each other grow expertise in legacy, current, and emerging technologies
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior members of the team
- Build and maintain documentation of internal systems and usage of external systems
- Provide advanced technical support when needed within your team and to other teams
Essential to Your Success:
- Experience in one of the below roles:
- Recent experience as System Administrator
- Recent experience in an intermediate IT role such as: Senior Technical Support, Software Engineer, Networking Engineer
- 3+ years of experience in an entry-level IT role such as: Tier 1 Technical Support, Helpdesk
- Experience with database, network, and patch management
- Knowledge of system security and data backup and recovery
- Ability to create scripts to automate manual processes
- Familiarity with various operating system platforms
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with monitoring tools and logging solutions

- Technologies in use:
- 4 year Bachelor's Degree Preferred
General:
- 1-7+ years overall IT work experience
- 2+ years Intermediate level IT work experience for Able level
- 3+ years System Administrator experience for Senior level
- Agile experience preferred
Certifications:
- Certifications in relevant technologies such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) are a plus.
