Job Description
As a Claim Specialist, you will play a vital role in the healthcare and customer service sectors, providing essential support to individuals who rely on mobility equipment, particularly in cases where damage has occurred during airline travel. Working within a professional office environment, you will serve as a dedicated case manager, guiding each claim from inception to resolution while collaborating closely with technicians, airline personnel, and patients to ensure cost-effective and compassionate outcomes. This is a Contract to Hire position located near Deerfield, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients whose mobility equipment has been damaged during airline travel. Manage each claim from start to finish, ensuring timely resolution and optimal patient satisfaction.
- Provide empathetic and attentive customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and inquiries with professionalism and care.
- Work closely with technicians and airline staff to assess damage, determine repair solutions, and coordinate logistics to facilitate equipment repair or replacement.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex situations, finding innovative and efficient solutions to meet patient needs.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, keeping them informed throughout the claims process and ensuring transparency and trust.
- Accurately document claim details, correspondence, and resolutions in internal systems, ensuring comprehensive records for reference and analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to mobility equipment and airline policies. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in customer service or healthcare is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in computer usage and data entry.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Empathetic attitude and dedication to providing exceptional patient care.
Job Details:

- Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
- Pay is $40k- $45k depending on experience
