Overview
The SVP, Human Resources/Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will report to the EVP, Chief Administrative Officer and be a member of the Executive Team, a peer to the senior leaders in the organization. This role will function as a client-focused partner, ensuring its goals help achieve the organization's short and long-term objectives. The SVP, Human Resources will be responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the human capital strategic plan in alignment with the corporate vision and mission, ensuring that all stakeholders within AltaMed are supported by the Human Resources framework. Focus on employer branding, engagement, recruiting, change management, compensation, talent management, development and retention will be key as AltaMed continues to expand and adapt to market trends as well as manage employee engagement and natural turnover.
The SVP, Human Resources/CHRO will be responsible for overseeing and leading all people functions across AltaMed and its affiliated entities in accordance with applicable policies, practices, legal, regulatory and governmental requirements.
The incoming HR leader must be a strategic thought leader as well as an active participant in the day-to-day management of a 4,000+ employee-based organization and 100+ professional HR department. They will be a strong collaborator and influencer who will craft and lead a performance and data-driven HR team. The department is ready for a motivated leader to execute recruitment strategies that attract exceptional external candidates as well as deploys effective retention strategies. The SVP, Human Resources will help strengthen performance and mitigate risk through cultural competency, promoting organizational effectiveness, and taking ownership in driving forward the diversity, equity and inclusionary focus embedded in AltaMed's mission.
Responsibilities
The SVP, Human Resources/CHRO will have the following responsibilities:
Support, partner and advise the Chief Administrative Officer, the Board of Directors and the Executive Leadership Team on Human Resources related matters including human capital strategy, development, and succession planning;Create and successfully execute the strategic Human Resources plan (SHRP), which shall be aligned with and in support of AltaMed's Strategic Plan, Operating plan, Budget and annual goals;Enhance, support and align the HR team journey to contribute to the health of the organization and ensure HR staff skills match current and future needs;Manage the HR team as advisor, coach and mentor, identifying ways to develop and expand career horizons;Instill a continuous improvement mindset in the department to improve service levels to all stakeholders and ensure the team is a trusted partner within the organization;Develop, enhance and transfer knowledge to strengthen and retain HR Leadership;Use data to measure and report on progress, support organizational priorities, strategies and goals;Proactively partner and collaborate across HR and leadership teams, providing thoughtful leadership and solution-oriented directions to optimize the contribution of the HR function;Assess all related technology, policies and procedures, adjusting as necessary to ensure compliance, effectiveness and a best-in-class perspective;Participate in organizational strategic planning and ensure Human Resources issues are considered in formulating strategic objectives;Guide/Direct/Champion in a change management philosophy where HR is seen as a transformative and forward-thinking function;Support a culture of social justice diversity, inclusiveness, learning, collaboration and accountability, and ensure all Human Resources activities are performed through a lens of inclusivity;Ensure all key HR-related communications are delivered timely across the organization;Maintain consistent familiarity with employee morale and culture and provide ongoing insight and actionable guidance to the leadership team;Support and conduct employee investigations that are timely, thoughtful and find resolutions that minimize risk to the organization;Partner with leaders across the organization to build and execute long-term, innovative and proactive staffing and recruiting plans, incorporating principles of equity and inclusion and a best-in-class recruiting strategy; Oversee onboarding, training, and professional development function, ensuring programs are designed to be sustainable; Identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps as opportunities to enhance learning programs and further develop pathways for employee and leadership growth including enhancement, creation and implementation of professional leadership development, employee education and career progression programs;Establish and oversee maintenance of a thorough, data-driven compensation strategy/system that positively impacts retention and meets equity goals and business needs;Partner with other leaders and the HR team in the selection of benefits plans that meet needs, uphold the mission and values, positively impact organizational culture and retention rate, and align with operational realities;Assume a gate-keeper role for the company's 'Corporate Social Responsibilities'(CSR); andSupport and nurture existing labor partnerships, serving as a strategic partner, providing expert knowledge and assistance and promoting consistent best-practices approach to positive employee and labor relations.Perform all other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline. Master's degree preferred;SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred;15 years of Human Resources experience within complex dispersed Medicaid/MHO or healthcare organizations and a background which demonstrates a commitment to non-profit, social justice and/or mission-based organizations;8 years of progressive leadership experience, some unionized environment preferred; andMust be fully COVID-19 vaccinated, including up-to-date boosters.Employment Type: OTHER
