Because of our growth, we are seeking an experiencedSurvey Technician. This position can work in a hybrid setting in the Denver, CO, Dayton, OH, Atlanta, GA or our Virginia Beach, VA area.
The Survey Technician will work collectively with the Project Manager and clients to ensure the projects are completed according to the client specifications and timeline. Our Survey Technician is responsible for preparing route surveys to state and federal standards, utility inventory surveys, and roadway right-of-way plans. In addition, this role provides reduction of field data, land record research, preparation of boundary surveys, and topographic maps to meet internal and external customer requirements. Our Survey Technician will have a proven ability to work professionally with clients in various disciplines to proactively resolve issues, track progress, perform quality control, make necessary corrections, and continually manage schedule.
- Conduct land records research and draft parcels, easements, rights-of-ways found in researched documents.
- Reduction of survey data and importing into Microstation platform
- Drafting topographic, boundary, utility, and other special purpose surveys
- Convert data formats, including but not limited to MicroStation.
- Prepares highway right-of-way plans
- Combining geospatial data from various sources to produce a seamless map
- Produce accurate and legible plats, survey reports and legal descriptions.
- Verify map feature and attribute accuracies
- Skills in 3D Models such as DTM/TIN analysis, creation, & modification.
- Identify and recommend process improvements and enhancements on existing projects
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Geography, Survey or related experience is preferred.
- MicroStation experience required.
- Experience with GeoPak, InRoads, and Open Roads Design.
- G.I.S. related experience is a plus
- Trimble Business Center is a plus
- Knowledge of state DOT standards is a plus
- Surveyor-in-Training (S.I.T.) designation is a plus
- Able to graphically present information clearly and concisely
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects/tasks
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Possesses a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

The expected base salary range for this position is between $20.00 – 30.00 per hour, depending on experience and skillset, this applies only to Colorado applicants.
