The Legal Intern position resides in the Technology Policy department at CableLabs. This department supports public policy priorities in spectrum, wireless, broadband, energy efficiency, sustainability, cybersecurity, supply chain, artificial intelligence, and privacy. Our team plays a crucial role in ensuring that members are armed for success in the public policy domain and that public policy considerations are incorporated in CableLabs innovation and technology development process.
Why This Internship Is Exciting
You will experience researching and analyzing a variety of technology policy topics as applied to new and emerging technologies and have the opportunity to work with the Legal team on additional topics, such as intellectual property, contracts, and corporate legal matters.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform regulatory and policy research and analysis around new and emerging technologies.
- Present your findings to a diverse set of CableLabs employees, collect feedback, and revise your presentation as needed.
- Participate in weekly meetings with trade associations and CableLabs’ member companies to learn the latest on policy topics facing ISPs and mobile providers.
- Assist the Technology Policy team in producing written materials for internal and external stakeholders.
What Is a Must Have:
- Currently enrolled in law school and completed at least one year prior to the start date of the internship
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
What Will Set You Apart:
- Technical background or strong interest in technology and innovation, preferably demonstrated through previous coursework, or other relevant professional experience.
