Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create preliminary designs of real and conceptual static process equipment and interconnecting piping for various applications using SolidWorks
- Update existing CAD models and drawings as requested
- Perform basic engineering calculations
- Document and perform various experiments
- Convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Excels at SolidWorks (CSWP preferred, but not required)
- Spatial intelligence (the capacity for mentally generating, rotating, and transforming visual images)
- Ability to communicate design intent through 2D fabrication drawings
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to track details
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to manage and execute multiple projects in parallel
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university
- General knowledge of process plant piping systems (e.g., routing, valve specification, etc.)
- Experience with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Welding
- Machining
- Familiarity with safety procedures
- Lift up to 40 pounds
- Sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time
- Ascend and descend stairs and ladders
Pay rate is $20.00 per hour, without benefits as this is a Summer Internship and temporary.
