ABOUT THE ROLE
Management Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of team development, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, quality-assurance, reporting, and collaboration with other teams.
- Overall responsibility for journal and online product sales to designated Special Library Sales Accounts including the distribution of accounts within the team and to co-ordinate cover during team absences.
- Work with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Campaign Coordinator to develop and implement the special sales campaign calendar, using data and reporting to improve existing and future campaigns.
- Co-ordinating special project or campaigns with the team as requested by the Regional Sales Director or other Senior Management staff (e.g. annual lapsed subscription campaign).
- Grow special sales team sales, working with the Regional Sales Manager on team strategy, and implementing that strategy through leadership in team meetings, identifying team skill needs, and providing feedback and encouragement to team members.
- Promote team member adherence to company regulations, compliance and anti-bribery terms, and performance goals.
- Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales goals
- Work with other Regional Sales Manager to collaborate as a single voice with other OUP departments, on behalf of the sales team, in order to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials and appropriate support from other departments including (but not limited to) Customer Service, Credit and Collection, Editorial, Technology, Product Development and Institutional Marketing (particularly in regard to campaign planning)
- Routine examination of customer account base and communications, to ensure that professional customer relationships are maintained (attending customer visits with team members, reviewing SF.com data, etc.)
- Attend pertinent library trade shows, vendor fairs and conferences as needed
Sales Responsibilities for Assigned Accounts
- Grow existing journals collections, maximize upselling and cross-selling through data analytics, including turn-away reports and current holdings. Deliver new business growth by identifying and prioritizing the high potential opportunities within the territory
- Establish prospect goals annually, manage, and cultivate relationships via phone, email and in person meetings with new and existing customers in assigned market segments to create new sales opportunities for journals, print and online products. Represent Oxford professionally and proactively at library conferences and face-to-face sales calls to develop and maintain customer relationships
- Manage our relationships with network, consortia, and agent partners that primarily serve the Special Libraries channel
- Work to satisfy customers' needs and requests, respond to their queries in a timely manner and aspire to deliver positive customer experience
- Enter and track customer and contact information in Salesforce
- Work with agents to ensure Oxford resources are well represented and included in offers
- Prepare written presentations, reports, and price quotations as required to promote sales utilizing within assigned territory or at the request of Institutional Sales Management
- Continually update product knowledge of appropriate product lines for this channel, including, but not limited to, law and medical resources and journal products
- Continued learning and product training across all product line and supporting services such as marc record, usage reports, and Net Insight Analytics
- Manage individual travel budget to visit accounts in your designated territory
- Work very closely with the Regional Sales Manager in developing target account lists for both upselling and new customer acquisition
- May be assigned other duties as required
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree recommended.
- Previous management experience desired.
- Significant work experience in law, medical, corporate, or journals sales with a preferred background in journals and/online subscriptions including working knowledge of journals subscriptions agents.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience using CRM software such as Salesforce

Salary: $72,240 - $108,360 dependent on skills and experience
