About the Position: Thai Community Development Center (Thai CDC) works “to advance the social and economic well-being of low- and moderate-income Thais and other ethnic communities in the greater Los Angeles area through a broad and comprehensive community development strategy including human rights advocacy, affordable housing, access to healthcare, promotion of small businesses, neighborhood empowerment, and social enterprises.”

The Administrative Assistant will provide clerical, intake, and coordination services including, but not limited to, client intake, interpretation, communication with clients and other necessary supportive duties.

Examples of Duties:

  • Conduct client intakes and gather relevant information and case documents from clients under the supervision of an attorney;
  • Maintain client case files;
  • Schedule clients to attend meetings;
  • Provide support to Directing Attorney, Staff Attorneys and Paralegal;
  • Coordinate grant reporting, data entry, and outcome tracking for case work as directed;
  • Perform various clerical duties such as record-keeping, document copying;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and at least 1 year of experience in legal services
  • Comfort with trauma-informed advocacy: empathy, responsive listening, restraint from judgment, and demonstration of authentic care and concern;
  • Work well as part of a team, but also be able to work independently;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Detail-oriented and superior organizational skills;
  • Ability to commute throughout Los Angeles County; and
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in Spanish and English.
