About this Role:
The NOC Support team is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements in process and automation for Windstream's Core NOC. Team members help to facilitate changes for Windstream's Access, IP, Transport, Power & Environments, and Voice technologies which are deployed in a national ISP network. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with NOC Teams to create meaningful and efficient automations which will define alarming thresholds, reduce ticket volume, and enrich tickets with data that improves the effectiveness of analysts. When these automations do not perform as expected, the engineer will document the issue as they progress to a resolution. Team members typically work during normal business hours but may be required to work with other shifts to better understand challenges they face, implement/validate new implementations, or resolve critical bugs.
What You'll Do:
- Perform complex Software Engineering tasks (dependent on project needs) such as requirements review, design, documentation, development, testing and preparing for release.
- Involvement in life cycle of various projects from requirements review to hand off to QA and implementation. May design, author and/or review design documentation for projects. Analyzes solutions created by other engineers and provide feedback.
- Review requirement documents for feasibility of project as a whole. Participate in team design/code reviews.
- Based on project needs, interface with other groups and review impact to other applications and teams.
- Participate in team meetings to review status of projects. Troubleshoot and correct production issues.
- Research new technologies to improve business processes and automations.
- Review software build and installation instructions.

- Java/J2EE, Eclipse, PYTHON or PHP
- Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (9i, 10g, 11g)
- Linux/UNIX scripting
- GWT or other JavaScript technologies
- SOAP web services
- Application Integration/Enterprise Service Bus
- Telecom billing/provisioning (RevChain/MetaSolv) exposure
- Experience with ISP Network environment

The starting compensation range for this job is $53,600 - $67,500.
