Job description

Vive Financial is currently hiring a Lead Software Engineer to help grow our company and ensure our mission is achieved! This role is responsible for working with a team of Engineers to develop new software applications and maintain and enhance existing applications using a variety of development tools and skills.

This position is eligible for remote work with some days in the office in our Fayetteville, Arkansas location. Candidate must live within a 60-mile radius of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Play a critical lead role in the design and decision making for our applications.
  • Actively participate and lead code reviews with an eye towards best practices & craftsmanship.
  • Utilize DevOps as a tool to document changes and follow accepted change control practices.
  • Complete all project documentation associated with assignments.
  • Apply an advanced level knowledge of MS SQL Server utilizing T-SQL, stored procedures, and transaction processing concepts in the development of software applications.
  • Work with users and product owners to clarify needs and resolve issues.
  • Follow established programming standards and best practices.
  • Test and debug code for quality assurance and problem resolution.
  • Assist the QA team in developing a plan to test new functionality and features.
  • Assist in the development of an implementation plan.
  • Assist in afterhours software and system releases and upgrades.
  • Assist in the development of a plan to reverse implementations in the event issues are discovered.
  • Will be part of an on-call rotation to help resolve urgent system issues occurring outside of normal office hours, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Serve as a mentor to other team members.

YOU’LL BRING:

  • 6+ years of technical experience in software development, preferably in an enterprise environment.
  • 6+ years Software development with Microsoft development stack. C#, .NET Core essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related field or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Background in financial services software is a plus.
  • Experience using GIT and DevOps, & YAML.

YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE:

  • Broad experience across technologies, stacks, and development languages especially C#, ASP.net MVC, and JavaScript.
  • .NET Core 5.0 and above experience desirable.
  • Experience with mobile development technologies such as flutter is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of service-oriented architecture, APIs, JSON marshalling, etc.
  • Well versed in object-oriented programming.
  • Self-motivated to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Experience with dependency injection and middleware.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong UX skills and a good sense for visual and interaction design.
  • Display excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently for extended periods.
  • Demonstrate a high sense of ownership and accountability for work produced.
  • Ability to contribute to team success, as well as your own individual success.
