Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Adhere to ESD requirements of area in line with Standard Operating Procedures
- Manage general instructions for Handling and Processing Lead Free Assemblies
- Loading feeders and raw components according to the relevant set up sheets to ensure wrong values are not loaded to the machine
- Understand and manage feeder sizes and pitches for reeled components
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe, efficient and effecting operation of the SMT equipment
- Loading the correct program to the machine and managing change-overs in an efficient manner
- Understand and manage solder paste process
- Records production information such as production output, machine downtime and quality defects
- Communicates with team members to maintain efficient working practices
- Run the AOI machine independently, including start up and shut down, loading the program and managing and logging defects
- Basic understanding of the requirements of IPC-A-610 and ability to inspect assembly for damage, component placement issues and other known SMT defects
- Conducting constant 'in process' inspection of both product and equipment to ensure best quality is achieved
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement within working environment
- Driving a 5S philosophy and ensuring production area is clean, tidy and in order
- Supports continuous improvement projects
- Special projects as assigned. May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Experience, Skills, and Education Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years' experience within an SMT environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with a 'can do approach' to problem solving and can work with various departments
- Previous experience with ASM, DEK, BTU, Universal, Koh Young preferred, but not essential
Work Environment
- Work time will be spent in fast paced manufacturing plant
- Temperature and noise may vary depending on external environmental conditions
- The role requires constant movement to ensure best efficiency of equipment
- Lack of attention and carelessness may result in personal injury to self or others
- Personal protective equipment is required on the production floor
- Work hours are Monday through Friday 2 pm-10 pm
