Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 coding system
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for Hospice Services
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to ensure proper documentation and coding, work closely with Director of nurses all all clinical staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Experience:
-Must be Bilingual Spanish in Hospice Health Care Setting
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Hospice medical billing or related field
- Proficient in medical coding systems, including ICD-10
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses for Hospice Patients
- Familiarity with medical office operations and electronic health records systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
