Job Summary:

As Shipping and Receiving Specialist you will play a pivotal role in the material flow in and out of our distribution center to meet the demands of our Aerospace and Defense Customers worldwide. As Material is received in from our suppliers, incoming inspections of the material (metal tubes, extrusions, sheets and plastics) are conducted to ensure they meet industry standards and specified tolerances. Driving continuous improvement in the process will be essential. Once the material is inspected and put into our ERP system, it will be put away in the optimal warehouse location.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace and Defense Material Distribution
• Demonstrated experience working with AS9100D / ISO9001:2015
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Proven experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action processes.
• Experience in utilizing calipers and micrometers

• Effective time management and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Critical Job Functions

• Inspects incoming shipments for any damaged or destroyed freight.
• Unload, receive and inspect incoming materials into ERP system.
• Puts away incoming received material into racks, assigns rack location in ERP system.
• Communicate with Purchasing Department any discrepancies in quantities, freight damages, and request freight costs.
• Reviews material certifications and ensures they are meeting the specifications listed on Future Metals Purchase Orders.
• Prepares outgoing shipments by ensuring all packages have the correct packing slips and commercial invoices attached.
• Loads carriers with the correct shipments. Ensures carrier have a shipper number or customer PO number as reference before loading material.
• Marks shipments as Shipped, adding the pro number, airway bill, or any tracking reference in the ERP system.
• Drives Cycle Count Process to ensure inventory is accurate
• Supports other areas in the warehouse as needed or directed by Operations Manger
• Maintains 6S in Shipping and Receiving

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
