Job title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
- Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
- Support the quality system and its initiatives and ensure assigned associates do as well.
- Prepares bills of lading.
- Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and/or work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree or trade school certification preferred.
- Supervisor experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment) required.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in organizational effectiveness, lean manufacturing practices and operations management preferred.
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, prioritize and execute work activities.
- Computer Skills. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), ERP software.
- Must be effective at resolving problems and handling stressful situations in a professional manner.
- Forklift Experience a must.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and comply with OSHA standards.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for extended periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.50 - $27.00 per hour
