Shipping and Receiving Manager

Metro Steel USA, a OEM & steel manufacturing facility is urgently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Manager with proven experience in Shipping and Receiving operations. The ideal candidate is a leader who is highly organized with superb communication skills and a strong sense of urgency, efficiency and speed. The position is full-time. Hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm. You will be part of a team of like-minded, talented individuals that is helping make a difference in the company's growth. Responsibilities:·

- Oversee all Shipping and Receiving operations within the warehouse organization

- Train and manage Shipping and Receiving staff

- Ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of products to clients

- Create, modify, and implement safety and security protocols for the facility

- Ensure adherence to Shipping and Receiving SOPs

- Analyze orders and print out the forecasts daily to estimate shipping, storage, and delivery requirements, and use this information to create resource allocation requests

- Inspect the physical condition of the trucks and equipment according to checkup schedules and proceed or request to remedy unsatisfactory findings

- Communicate directly with client services to answer questions, provide shipping updates, and handle complaints calmly and efficiently

- Work closely with manufacturing by providing reports on stock quantities & upcoming orders

- Utilize the ERP system to track inbound and/or backordered orders & materials

- Track logistical efficiency and determine ways to improve material flow into and out of warehouses

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED certificate required

- At least 5 years of experience in shipping or warehouse management in a leadership role

- Familiarity with Inventory software programs

- Excellent communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel

- Able to stand, crouch and lift when needed

- Willingness to learn new skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
