GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing the flow of materials in and out of the company to ensure that shipments are handled properly, tracked through transit, and delivered on time and in good condition.
· Keep well-ordered docks, both for receiving area and staging of outbounds.
· Ensure inbound loads are scheduled, unloaded, received into QuickBooks, and put away.
· Ensure outbound loads are planned, scheduled, loaded correctly, and sent off promptly.
· Prepare and execute all BOL’s and other admin required.
· Check the quality of all inbound and outbound loads to make sure they are up to the GSP standards. When they do not, connecting with the right team to check the materials and correct what is necessary.
· Lead forklift team to prepare for inbound and outbounds far enough ahead of schedule to ensure prompt unloading and loading.
· Lead the shipping team to function in a safe manner on forklifts, on trucks, and out in the shipping area outside.
· Maintain up to date knowledge of all shipping regulations.
· Order pallets as needed and in time for production.
· Daily check the dumpsters and schedule for them to be swapped out as needed.
· As necessary, dispose of materials that have been approved by customers. That will occasionally mean scheduling a separate dumpster and pursuing the appropriate paperwork to ensure it was disposed of properly.
· Ensure the shipping/receiving team keeps the areas clean by following daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures.
· Ensure all shipping/receiving area documentation is complete (carrier/visitor log, inbound/outbound trailer inspection log, forklift daily checklist).
· Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding shipping, receiving, and warehousing.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Proficiency in speaking and writing in English.
· Competency in using Microsoft office, especially in the basics of Outlook, Excel, and Word
· Teachable attitude
· Effective communication skills.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Good with time-management. Able to choose what’s best next.
· Comfortable leading a small team.

Pay: $24.92 - $28.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
