SalaryJob Purpose
Ensures safe and quality packaging and shipment of all units scheduled for shipping. Ensure materials are received and delivered to stockroom or production as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Verify accuracy of packing slip for all units brought to the dock for shipping.
· Read and interpret shipping documents (i.e. BOM, bill of lading, packing slip, etc.).
· Prepare required documentation for daily shipments and post in accordance with procedure.
· Email Will-Call list daily to Customer Service.
· Track Will-Call orders as well as contact customers for Will-Call orders to be picked up.
· Schedule freight pickups with corresponding truck companies.
· Schedule and ship small parcels and/or packages with FedEx or UPS as required.
· Unload and organize incoming material and deliver to stock room or production.
· Maintain clean and safe work area.
· All duties assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management.
· Responsible for understanding and executing Company goals and objectives while actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.
Qualifications
· Education
o High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
· Experience
o 5 years shipping/receiving experience required.
· Skills
o MFGPro software a plus
o Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculations using whole numbers and fractions.
o Able to read a measuring tape to a 1/16” measurement.
o Able to read and understand documents written in standard English.
· Abilities
o Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
o Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Professional Certification(s)
None
o Able to attain Myers Power Products, Inc. forklift and overhead crane certificate within (2) weeks of employment as required.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing area with dust, noise, moving machinery, heat, cold and humidity (not temperature controlled).
Physical Requirements
Production position. Spends the majority of the work shift walking, bending and stooping. Generally requires clear vision at 20 inches or less for reading. Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to carry supplies, tools and equipment throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. with no assistance.
