Summary
DHI’s Water Transfer service line collects and moves water through piping and lay flat hose and underground pipeline
systems from water sources to customer locations. Water Transfer employees work on crews and are responsible for setting
up, operating, and rigging down jobs safely. Their work is laborious and performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities and aptitude to perform each duty
proficiently
• Ability to set-up and direct all aspects of water transfer field operations from job planning to rig up and through
operation phases, and rig down and recovery of assets.
• Able to effectively manage work teams and develop employee skills through coaching and teaching best practices
and methods.
• Evaluate crew members constantly and make promotion, training, and disciplinary recommendations.
• Ensure employees follow procedures and job plans and are aware of circumstantial details that they are expected to
deal with.
• Provide all details for the input of daily activity into field tickets for accurate billing.
• Support recruiting efforts, participate in the interviewing of candidates, and make recommendations for hiring.
Recommend rates for hiring based on market conditions, help new hires in the onboarding process.
• Reviews timecards daily for accuracy and completeness and approve or discuss any discrepancies with employees.
• Provide input recommendations into the work schedule planning of crew members
• Ensure equipment undergoes all necessary operational inspections and any deficiencies are reported to the
operations director and/ or maintenance manager
• Ensure crews keep all DHI yards and work areas at job sites clean and organized
• Hold frequent customer meetings to ensure customer needs are being fulfilled and provide feedback to the
operations director on any issues that require additional support or involvement.
• Follow directions provided by Field Service Manager and customer representatives and question any instructions that
are unclear until clarity is achieved.
• Lead by example and ensures crews follow all HSE policies and procedures, and any waver from these are
addressed immediately.
• When weakness in the crew is apparent the SDM is expected to fill the gap and make the opportunity a teaching
moment showing crew members how to perform the work.

• Professionally represent DHI in front of the customer cordially and demonstrate a “can-do” and “want-to-help”
attitude.
• Acts as Manager on Site, delegating work to be done to ensure operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
• Supports sales reps providing guidance and feedback on job scope for new jobs
Qualifications
• Graduated from a standard high school or GED or have equivalent experience
• A minimum of 2 years of water transfer supervisory experience.
• 3 years' experience in industry across other disciplines
• It is viewed as beneficial to have some engineering or technical education, It is not required but an AA degree, or BS
degree will be beneficial in this role.
• Good understanding and working knowledge of water transfer operations and equipment
• Experience with rotary equipment such as diesel pumps is a great benefit
• Ability to write summary reports, apply basic math to job planning and design.
• Ability to use general computer and electronic device applications
• Valid driver's license
• Prior experience managing work teams
Physical Demands
• Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving
mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
• Worker will be subject to physical activities that are in, on or around equipment and will need to use tools and operate
them. The work will involve some lifting and manipulating tools as well as working in hot and cold environments.
• Exposure to noise levels that requires the use of hearing protection.
• Prolonged sitting, standing, walking
• Occasionally lift equipment and components up to 75 lbs.
Work Schedule
• This position is full time and requires 40 hours per week and the willingness to work additional hours when needed to
provide leadership and direction during critical operations.
