The Service Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient functioning of a patient service area within an inpatient unit. This position involves providing essential clerical support to healthcare team members, patients, and families. Key responsibilities include facilitating communication among staff, patients, and families to ensure timely relay of pertinent information regarding patient conditions and concerns.
Additionally, the Service Coordinator is tasked with managing ordering and inventory tasks to guarantee uninterrupted operations of the unit. This includes maintaining stock levels of essential supplies, computer resources, and medications. The role also involves managing medical records, which entails entering data into computer systems, preparing patient charts for admissions, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of paperwork to uphold the integrity of medical records. The Service Coordinator contributes to quality improvement efforts by utilizing time and resources effectively to promote favorable quality and cost outcomes. Demonstrating a commitment to professional development, the incumbent seeks opportunities to enhance job skills and knowledge, thereby fostering accountability for personal growth and job performance.

Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
