Job Description

Client is seeking a Junior Telecom Engineer willing to learn telephone/ethernet/coax cabling. Experienced with an Avaya phone switch, a plus. The work environment will be a contractor for a local federal government agency in the Cincinnati / Clifton area.
Required:
Zero to Two years of experience as a Telecommunications Engineer
Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (four years), associate or two years experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
The work is 100% onsite
Daily work will include:
Adding, changing, and configuring Avaya phone switch
Adding, changing, terminating, and configuring cable management; twisted pair and coax
Ability to manage, control, and report on assets and inventory
Understanding, adding, changing, and configuring DSL Networks
Integration with Emergency 911 systems
Understanding and experience using Microsoft Office 365 Office applications including MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint, and MS Visio
Understanding and experience addressing tickets using Service Now, including Service Level prioritization
Ability to use the following troubleshooting equipment is a plus:
Ethernet cable tester:
Telephone tone generator
Project Work to include but not limited to
End-user phone devices
WAP replacements
Additional cable pulls in main and remote offices.
