The Senior Scheduling Coordinator will communicate regularly with physicians, patients, ancillary and surgical areas to include: scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of single/multiple tests and procedures.

Surgery Department
The WPH Peri-Operative Department includes the Operating Room Suite, the Pre-Anesthesia Care Area, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The WPH Peri-Operative Department, in conjunction with Anesthesia Services, offers peri-operative care to in and outpatient females who meet the anesthesia ASA Class I, II, III or IV physical status criteria of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
- The major services include elective surgical procedures and GYN Oncology Procedures for women.
- Patients having local, general, monitored anesthesia care, or regional anesthesia are treated.
- The surgical service staffs are scheduled to provide flexible nursing care and services for elective scheduled, urgent and emergency cases around the clock.
- WPH Surgery Department provides coverage for urgent and emergent cases 24/7.
Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies
Located on the downtown Orlando campus, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies opened in 2006, providing programs and services focused on the unique needs of women and newborns. Specialized care covers all facets of women's health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. The hospital is "Magnet" recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care and is certified in perinatal care by The Joint Commission. Welcoming nearly 14,000 babies each year, the hospital's 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care beds, making it one of the largest neonatal intensive care units under one roof in the country. Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Responsible for maintenance of appropriate departmental schedules.
- May provide feedback to manager for human resources functions such as hiring, coaching, and counseling.
- Efficiently and accurately gathers and inputs patient demographic information, insurance verification/authorization and schedules.
- Accurately communicates prep information, arrival time and arrival location to patient.
- Inputs and distributes charge management process on a daily basis schedules and cancels multiple diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Understands the importance Orlando Health places on providing exemplary customer service with a Patient First Philosophy.
- Consistently reviews the schedules daily and communicates all changes to appropriate staff.
- Knowledge of computer applications, multi-line telephone system, printers, copy fax machines, which may include required data
- Acts as a liaison to the clinical and business staff to ensure effective and efficient patient management.
- Assist in training or mentoring of all team members.
- Provide accurate information of department/procedure specific scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation, arrival location and time.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Education/Training
- High school diploma and medical terminology and/or basic anatomy training required.
- Associate's degree in Business, information systems, clinical field or related may be substituted for up to two (2) years of experience.
Experience
- Three (3) years of experience in clinical registration and scheduling.
- Associated degree in Business, information systems clinical field or related may be substitute for two years of experience
