We are looking for a Senior Risk Analyst, Middle Office to be based in our Houston office to join our Middle Office team.
Neste's regional headquarters in North America are based in Houston, Texas. Neste and affiliated entities including Mahoney Environmental Services, Agri
Trading and SeQuential Environmental Services employ more than 900 people across the US.
Currently based in Finland, Switzerland and US, our international team of experts works in the Market risk & Middle office team within the Neste Corporate Treasury and Risk management function. The team is responsible for the design & development of the market risk management framework (principles, processes, practices), and market risk monitoring & control. We also support the business units by providing market risk assessments and insights and by developing market risk modeling methodology and tools.

Your role in our team, you will
- Bring to the Houston team 3-5 years of professional Middle office experience and will support them in the growing activities related to the Renewable Products Sales and Trading businesses area
- Enhance and produce regular Credits inventory exposure and Mark to Market reports for RINs and LCFS Credits, including internal compliance controls
- Participate as a Middle office expert in ongoing and future projects on the Physical Sales and Credits in the Americas, contributing in modeling, developing and implementing the Middle office processes and tools
- Produce ad-hoc analyses and collaborate with internal stakeholders like commercial teams, physical operators, supply chain and business finance teams
- Work closely with the other Middle Office teams to keep improving and simplifying internal procedures and reporting automation as well as market risk control and Middle Office processes
- Coordinate day to day activities of local team on behalf of global manager
- Collaborate in the Middle office month-end closing activities
- Working safely at all times is essential to all of us
The best combination of experiences, skills and background to succeed in this role
- Bachelor or Master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, math/physics or a related field
- Several years of work experience in North America's commodity markets, in Middle office or market risk management roles. A solid knowledge of the physical oil and derivatives (futures and swaps) markets is mandatory. Previous experience in Credits (RINs, LCFS) will be considered an advantage
- Strong analytical mindset and skills, ability to model and solve complex problems. The successful candidate is comfortable working with statistical and quantitative methods to analyze market data, is precise and pays attention to detail, is able to work independently, organized and result driven
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft tools. Previous experience with risk management systems and/or in programming are a plus
- Effective communicator, open, responsible, good team player. Showing professional maturity, honesty, integrity and excellent work ethic
