What will I be doing?

Blueprint is looking for a Senior Development Manager to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions! As a Senior Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our teams, offerings, and partnerships. You will be responsible for collaborating on strategic direction, overseeing the growth and development of our technical teams, and ensuring we remain at the forefront of industry trends. Your leadership will enable us to offer cutting-edge accelerators, solutions, and offerings to our clients, while driving the overall success of our teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategy that aligns with our business objectives, fosters innovation, and positions Blueprint as a leader in the industry.
  • Oversee the growth and development of our technical teams across Development Managers and their teams. This includes but is not limited to mentoring and coaching leaders, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend new technologies that could enhance our offerings and give us a competitive advantage.
  • Ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of quality, performance, reliability, repeatability, and scalability.
  • Work closely with engagement teams to oversee the design and implementation of solutions that exceed client expectations.
  • Engage with Blueprint teams and key clients to understand their unique challenges and requirements. Act as a senior technical advisor, leveraging your expertise to design and propose solutions that meet client needs.
  • Streamline processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency, productivity, and scalability within and across teams.
  • Work closely with other departments such as client development, marketing, product development to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to our solutions and offerings.
  • Hold Engagement Technical Solution Reviews on a consistent cadence in order to evaluate what is emerging from engagements, applicability to other clients and iteration on our solution and offering approach and methodologies.
  • Understanding the business value and impact of applying our solutions and how these impacts are leveraged to drive business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM, Technical or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a technical capability such as data engineering, data science, business intelligence, cloud engineering, software engineering or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies across multiple teams.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), big data technologies, ETL tools and data modeling.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate and guide teams toward achieving their goals.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and provide hands-on support for blocked/struggling team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, and clients.
  • Agile mindset with experience in implementing agile practices in a fast-paced environment, defining incremental deliverables to deliver value quickly and iterate.
  • Experience in defining roadmaps and distributing tasks to team members.
  • Experience in Modern Data Estate patterns & technologies (Source to Raw to State to Curated).
  • Ability to work with employees across multiple time zones and in remote locations.
  • Experience in identifying technical gaps across the technical capabilities of Solutions Delivery and building high impact teams to support evolving needs.
  • Experience in defining short- and long-term vision, goals, and success criteria for the team.
  • Experience in building Centers of Excellence aligned to business needs with supporting policies and principles for the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Databricks
  • Experience with Python/PySpark in a hands-on capacity
  • Experience with Data Governance concepts and tools

Salary Range

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $184,100 to $230,600 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
