Job description

Do you want to change the world? We do, too.
SunPower is changing the way our world is powered every day with a passionate and driven team in North America and the Philippines. SunPower provides world-class solar solutions to residential customers across the U.S. with a commitment to a superior customer experience. We welcome forward thinkers, freedom chasers and all those demanding better, cleaner energy to join us.

Summary of Role:

SunPower’s mission is to change the way the world is powered. Solar energy is one of the fastest-growing industries in the US. Not only is going solar beneficial for the planet; for most Americans it also saves money vs. buying power from the utility. The mission of the Post-Commissioning team is to empower SunPower’s customers, both internal and external, by building software that supports all aspects of a customer’s experience after install. This is an opportunity to work with world-class developers and shape the architecture and technology of the post-installation platform at every level. The ideal candidate is interested in leading teams who build software that impacts both our customers and the planet.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Senior Manager, Software Development is a managerial role with considerable scope to positively impact our customer base. This leader will guide an engineering team with end-to-end ownership of one or more of the technical capabilities that SunPower needs to offer a world-class monitoring platform. The Post-Commissioning team serves four main customer types: residential customers, dealers, technical support staff, and investors. Providing customers with a superior post-installation mobile app experience using automation, data science, IoT, time-series workflows, and scalable infrastructure is central to the Post-Commissioning team’s mission.

This role requires actively hiring and developing technical talent, defining priorities for the team, advocating for budget, and leading development teams from concept through delivery and subsequent operation.
