Sail Energy is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing, dynamic team.

We’ve assembled a veteran management and financial advisory team that has completed over 100 acquisitions in this space and have led thirteen successful, integrated roll-ups since our inception. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent within the accounting or finance fields.
Minimum 7 years progressive accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel competency.
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail with follow through to resolution.
Strong communication skills and ability to work under time pressure.
Solid US GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of Order to Cash Cycle and Procure to Pay Cycle with an emphasis in Inventory.
Prior accounting or finance experience in small to mid-sized businesses.
Experience in petroleum industry accounting sector (preferred).
Experience with Report Writing Tools (preferred).
Experience with Sage Intacct or mid-size financial systems (preferred).
This position is currently available for local candidates near Portsmouth, NH.
Position Summary
Sail Energy’s Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Corporate Controller in the achievement of the Company’s strategic and financial objectives and annual goals through the delivery of exceptional service and support, reflective of Sail Energy’s vision, mission, purpose, and values.
What Success Looks Like
Thinking partner with the businesses to identify training opportunities and process refinement.
Proficient in complex data platforms with the ability to translate and understand their interdependencies.
Analyzing Balance Sheet Accounts to ensure accuracy with a particular emphasis on month end close for order to cash and inventory.
Prepare/deliver monthly/quarterly and annual statutory financial and management reporting and related analysis.
Support the annual audit and external auditors, including preparation of tax basis financial statements, related notes and supporting information.
Journal entry preparation.
Investigates variances and works with the operational sites to resolve root cause.
Working with financial data sets from multiple systems.
Lead/support ongoing system upgrades/enhancements and new system implementations.
Year end audit preparation and support.
Responding to finance-related queries received.
Backup other team members as required. (Accounts Payable, Banking, etc.)
