SalaryThe Senior Accountant will act as an accounting business partner to support the shared service center and corporate accounting. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of the financial statements and participating in the monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely results that comply with company guidelines and requirements.
The position will report to the Assistant Controller. The role will require close working relationships with key employees at Standex:
- Corporate Controller
- Corporate Finance and Accounting
- Division Finance Managers
- Director of Financial Planning and Analysis
- Director of Treasury and Shared Financial Services
What You'll Do
- Transact general ledger accounting processes supporting corporate accounting and shared service center; including managing month end close activities for assigned companies.
- Provide accounting support to business units and departments as assigned.
- Support reconciliation and administration processes for various corporate managed areas including but not limited to: intercompany, equity, leases, fixed assets and intangibles.
- Assist with the monthly consolidated close and preparation of the monthly financial reporting package.
- Participate in the external reporting process with a focus on footnote and schedule support.
- Become a super user of the financial reporting and planning tools as well as the company's other ancillary systems, serving as a resource for training and process improvement opportunities.
- Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
- Maintain current documentation of procedures and proactively identify opportunities to improve process efficiencies.
- Assist in supporting quarterly reviews and annual audit efforts, including coordination of requests globally.
- Fully leverage IT systems to enhance closing and reporting process and assist with implementations as needed.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis as requested by management.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years of solid accounting experience
What We Value
- MBA/CPA and exposure to multi-company accounting a plus
- Competence in the use of Microsoft Office products and experience with ERP applications
- Experience with SAP Business One, Epicor and/or OneStream a plus
- Requires effective oral skills; excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
- A high degree of accuracy, critical thinking, and attention to detail are all essential to success in the position.
- Continuous improvement mindset is required.
