Job description

Under the general direction of the Technical Resource & Services Bureau Director, the incumbent is responsible for planning, evaluating and budgeting for the Specialized Technical Services Section. The incumbent will lead, organize and direct professional and technical employees, located nationwide, who partner with Audit and Legal staff to ensure compliance efforts are in accordance with established policy. The Section Manager will provide direction through subordinate supervisors and technical staff to ensure that standards for quality are met and assigned cases can and do operate in the most efficient manner possible. In certain cases, the Section Manager may serve as the division's primary contact and liaison with the department's Legal Department, Economic Research & Statistical Bureau, Legislative Service Bureau, among other ente rprise areas, to collaborate on matters that may affect Audit policy and programs, such as the California Competes or Research & Development Credit. The incumbent may also interact with other agencies such as the Governor's Office of Business Economic Development (GO-Biz) and work in close partnership with the Manager of the Technical Resource Section to carry out program goals.
This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
