EDUCATION
B.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, or a related subject area in Biological Sciences required
EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience; post-graduate laboratory experience in cell culture preferred
- Experience in HLA strongly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
- Capable of multi-tasking and good time management
- Flexible with changing plans and schedules
- Good oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Prepare media, buffers, and reagents
- Characterize protein-protein interactions with biolayer interferometry (BLI) / surface plasmon resonance (SPR)
- DNA extraction (from whole blood and tissue culture) and protein purification
- Molecular typing of human genomic DNA samples and manage reference DNA inventory
- Serological typing of human sera samples and manage reference antibody inventory
- Maintain mammalian cell culture including thawing, expansion, characterization, harvesting, freezing, and inventory management
- Characterize membrane antigen expression using Flow Cytometry
- Use One Lambda products and research tools for HLA Tissue Typing
- Compile and analyze data to complete update or report
- Author and/or edit technical documents for internal and external release
- Train other team members
- Perform all activities in compliance with GDP/GMP, regulatory and safety policies
