Scientist – Cell & Molecular Biology

About the role:
Reporting to the Research & Development Lead, the Scientist will use cell culture, chemical, and Molecular Biology techniques to support the development of tissue engineering medical devices. The Research Associate works primarily in R&D to support advancements in bioprocessing, scaffolding, and large-scale tissue formation.

You are an experienced cell biologist and/or molecular biologist who enjoys collaborating across disciplines in order to solve complex problems. You are good at communicating ideas, data, and bottle-necks to technical and non-technical audiences alike. You have knowledge or interest in tissue engineering and are excited to bring your experience this nascent industry. You thrive in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities:
- Stem cell culture
- Collaborate with the pre-clinical development team to move projects through regulatory approval
- Publish peer-reviewed research articles in tissue engineering and biotechnology
- Development of new cell lines for regenerative and investigative studies
- Develop assays to screen, isolate, and validate cell lines
- Contribute to various group efforts in research, development, and diagnostics
- Identify, suggest, purchase and operate supplies and equipment through established processes to support this role
- Mentor junior members with technical skills, and experimental design
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- PhD + 3 years experience in Cell Biology, or related discipline
- Experience with Molecular Cloning
- Experienced in stem cell culture and/or tissue engineering
- Cell line development: able to screen, isolate, and validate targeted cell populations
- Basic cell biology: ability to develop methods to manipulate and investigate cell identity and behavior
Preferred
- Experience with Deep Sequencing
- Basic ImageJ/Fiji image processing
- Basic programming skills (preferred)
Salary: From $80k-$120k (Commensurate with relevant experience)
