Job description

Vitra Labs is a venture-backed cell therapy company whose goal is to create
oocytes from patient-derived Stem Cells for use in IVF. We use bioinformatics tools in combination with a cell signaling platform to recapitulate the normal developmental trajectory of nascent oocytes, without the need for donor ovarian tissue. Our mission is to curb the rise in infertility by making IVF accessible to everyone.

What you will be doing:
In this role, you will be designing and implementing methods to screen signaling candidates in high throughput to induce differentiation of oocytes. More specifically, you will:

  • Develop new transgenic Stem Cell lines.
  • Develop new CRISPR-based systems to test and validate targets.
  • Optimize RNP and mRNA based delivery systems.
  • Interface with computational biologists and help analyze scRNA/scATAC sequencing data to identify/test targets and design experiments.
  • Stay current on literature in the space and use it to inform experimental design.
  • Execute experiments, collect & present data with insightful conclusions.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory documentation.
  • Contribute to building a positive company culture.

As an early member of our team, you will also have the opportunity to build out our processes, contribute to the strategic planning of technical milestones, and be a key decision maker in future hires.

Your Qualifications:
  • PhD or equivalent in Molecular/Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Genetics, or other related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience in at least three of the following focus areas: flow cytometry, Stem Cell based differentiation (iPSC preferred), high-throughput screening, CRISPR editing, bioinformatics/computational biology.
  • Experience executing experiments using standard molecular biology tools (e.g. PCR, DNA purification, cloning/DNA assembly, DNA sequencing, collecting data, and presenting findings to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to carefully follow complex protocols.
  • Strong communication skills in technical writing, documentation, and oral presentation.

Please attach a cover letter clearly explaining your experience in at least 3 of the aforementioned focus areas.

Vitra Labs is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity in all forms and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that cultivates mutual respect. All employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business need.
