DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Responsible for developing and maintaining clinical staffing schedules. Accepts added responsibilities and duties on an ongoing basis as assigned. Coordinate’s patient’s appointments and transportation needs for the units. Maintains supply inventory levels through effective ordering and organization of nursing department supplies. This position provides administrative support to Nursing Administration and performs other key business and administrative functions as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for producing an eight (8) week schedule and posts vacancies in a timely manner
· Responsible for staffing call outs in a timely manner.
· Keeps daily record of absences, no calls/no show incidents and punctuality issues for review by Program and Nurse Manager. Communicates to Managers staff that have no call/no show or punctuality issues.
· Coordinate’s appointment scheduling and transport of patient ensuring staff is present for transport and unit is covered during staff’s absence, and accompanies patients to appointments as needed or assigned.
· Provides hard copy of schedule to Managers and Clinical on-call the Friday prior to call week and updates changes as they occur. Produces an 8-week schedule and posts vacancies timely.
· Responsible for processing approved vacation/holiday requests after managers have approved.
· Monitors the census to meet ratios facility wide according to the standards.
· Order patient and staff supplies for the Program, obtain approval prior to submitting purchase orders and maintain the established levels of inventory and supplies.
· Prioritize typing requests to ensure an accurate and timely response to each request and ensure completed typing projects are neat, accurate and in proper format
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Licensing:
· High School diploma, or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience:
· Minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care facility preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
· Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, and manage time wisely.
· Accepts feedback in a positive manner and applies it to improve performance and further learning.
· Exhibits calm and controlled attitude; does not overreact to allow his/her own actions to further deteriorate the situation.
· Coordinates with Program Manager/DON to increase staffing as necessary.
· Communicates daily with clinical on-call all staffing issues.
· Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with the other departments of the facility.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:
· Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
· Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population.
· Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
· Vision: see details of objects at close range.
· Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.
· Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.
· Lift up to twenty five (25) pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.33 - $25.55 per hour
