Job Description
We are seeking a Sales Application Engineer to join a local manufacturer in the Port Washington area for a direct hire.
Pay: $70,000 - 90,000

Key Responsibilities:
· Understand customer requirements for a project by analyzing the new item or item revision quote request, drawings, solid models, specifications, etc. Work directly with customers to acquire missing information, provide guidance on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and assist with any needs they have during the quoting phase of the project.
- Pair knowledge of customer requirements with our capabilities to develop bills of material, process routings, and tooling, fixture and inspection requirements. Work closely with external suppliers to obtain quotes. Enter data into cost estimate spreadsheet. Create proposals, including notation of exceptions, for Sales review and approval.
- Consult with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing and other departments when projects are awarded to share knowledge and when projects go into production to assess quote accuracy for continuous improvement.
- Manage data throughout the quote process, including: downloading and populating customer portals, logging and tracking cost estimates within Salesforce CRM, creating cost breakdown spreadsheets and quotes, saving data and documents on the network, initiating and updating Item Masters and ECNs.
- Provide Sales with technical support during on-site and off-site customer visits, video chats, and teleconferences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
· Minimum of 3 years professional experience in related position
- Ability to understand technical drawings, solid models and specifications, including GD&T and APQP documents
- Ability to visualize and predict run rates, calculate part volumes, and apply mathematic and scientific principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and on a team
- Very detail-oriented
- Ability to create a best-fit solution with limited data
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and basic skills in SolidWorks
- Knowledge of MD processes a plus: rubber injection molding, urethane casting, mold construction, thermoset materials, metal manufacturing processes, metal prep, cryogenic de-flashing, inspection and measurement methods
