Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Application Sales Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for conversion of more complex requests for quotes (RFQ's) to high quality bids and quotations. You will establish and maintain a strong relationship with clients throughout the sales cycle: proactively following up on leads for future business opportunities.

 

The Application Sales Engineer must be able to articulate Element testing to both business and technical users. They must be able to identify all technical requirements of assigned accounts to assure quotations are complete and professional.  In addition to client relations, this role will interact with the Element Sales Team, General Manager, and lab personnel. The ideal candidate will be customer focused, action oriented, approachable and patience.

Salary: Starting min $70K + Sales Comp

 

Responsibilities
  • Pursuing & closing sales opportunities within a assigned book of business in order to meet & exceed their assigned budget
  • Prepare quotes by studying drawings, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with Program Managers, technical experts, and other technical staff within Element
  • Calculate or establish pricing lead-time from standard price lists, local costing models, as well as from operational input
  • Follow-up on quotations for the assigned customer base and or quotations produced, providing clarification and modifications when required
  • Actively utilize CRM to record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, duplicates are removed, new information is added and accurate call / visit logs are entered

This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will:

  • Engineering degree required with 3+ years of technical experience with sales responsibilities
  • Testing, polymers, metallurgical or product qualification experience a plus
  • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements
  • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events / projects in the community, with customers and within the company

NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
