WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Assist in the development and implementation of best practices, initiatives, safety policies, and procedures to reduce employee risk, raise safety awareness, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and enhance the company's safety culture.
- Manage OSHA 300 Logs and regulatory correspondence to ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Maintain DOT and MSHA recordkeeping documentation and reporting as required.
- Coordinate and manage annual and periodic employee safety training, including new-hire training sessions.
- Provide support to locations with day-to-day safety needs and act as a resource for safety-related inquiries.
- Maintain Learning Management System (LMS)/Reporting System, including enrolling new employees, troubleshooting login issues, generating reports, monitoring the completion of audits, and system editing.
- Manage vetting systems such as Avetta, ISN, Complyworks, etc., ensuring all necessary documentation and certifications are up to date.
- Complete Pre-Qualification Safety Documents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Serving as a company point of contact for all safety vendors and partners.
- Perform any other administrative duties as requested by management.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Bachelor's degree or technical training in any safety-related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
- Strong commitment to safety and promoting a safety-conscious culture.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to present safety-related material to management confidently.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including adapting to new software and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience working with external safety vendors and partners.
- Experience in creating and establishing organizational policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact effectively with other team members.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and quickly-changing work environment with strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Prefer 30-hour OSHA certification.
- Preferred experience with DOT and MSHA regulations and reporting.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees in this role will work both indoors and outdoors and may be subjected to various weather conditions, including heat and cold.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; occasionally move equipment weighing up to 15 pounds, and frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
