Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA's core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.
Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.
This position is part of the DTNA safety team. The successful intern will assist the DTNA corporate safety team with assignments in our North/South Carolina manufacturing plants. This could include: safety strategy alignment, HV safety compliance for our electric school bus, safety audits, UAW, robot cell risk assessments, occupational health management, injury trend analysis, safety program development, machine guarding safety standardization, ANSI Z10 implementation, etc.
A successful candidate will gain knowledge of safety management in all levels of the organization from the shop floor to the corporate offices. The skillsets we are looking for include: strong communication, time management, agility, and fun are needed to be a safety culture driver at DTNA.
Ability to travel is preferred as manufacturing locations are spread out between High Point, NC to Gaffney, SC. If you want to learn how to put your skillset to use in real life and are willing to make mistakes, then let us show you that safety is our conviction as DTNA.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Align and standardize safety processes
- Availability to travel within Carolinas and work in manufacturing plants. Low level travel expected, contingent on candidate availability.
- Develop and administer safety and health training (eLearning and ppt.)
- Participate in corporate/UAW safety audits
- Collaborate with DTNA plant level safety teams
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last 12 months.
- Occupational, Health, Environmental or Health industrial safety majors preferred.
