Purpose: The RMS Administrative Assistant provides office and clerical support to assist with the efficient operation of the middle school
Responsible To: Building Administration Works Directly with the AD
Classified Administrative Professional/Secretary Starting Rate=12.39 per hour, 190 days, 8 hours per day
Qualifications:
1) High School Diploma or Equivalent
2) Preferred Experience in busy office environment
3) Strong computer background. Experience in Google
4) Ability to multi-task in an "interrupt" oriented environment
5) Ability to interact positively with students, staff and patrons
6) Requires good health. Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Essential Tasks:
- Ensure that all activities in this office conform to district guidelines
- React to change productively and handle all tasks as assigned
- Support the importance of a secondary education
- Support the philosophy and mission of CHS and USD #413
- Answer and direct personal and telephone contacts
- Professional letter writing and correspondence as directed by the principal
- Stay current in information and knowledge related to handling high school activities accounts
- Maintain an orderly filing system for athletics
- Aide administration in the coordination and planning of special events. Includes creation of programs, ordering food, drink etc. Requires some nights
- Coordinate and Plan Enrollment Activities with the principal
- Using the assistance of all office secretaries, prepare all forms for enrollment activities
- Work with the registrar and administration to assure that all necessary student information is gathered during enrollment time
- Prepare student photo ID's with the assistance of other office staff
- Organize forms and assist the senior end of year check out
- Organize forms and assist in the faculty end of year check out
- Other duties as assigned by administration
- Collect, organize, and enter physicals into the KSHSAA database
- Collect and organize contracts (physical copy and rSchool)
- Order, organize, and maintain concession stands
- Maintain and update the marquee sign
- Organize and inform parents and students about Senior Night festivities
- Collect and enter transportation requests for activities and athletics
- Enter and track eligibility requirements on the KSHSAA database
- Handle and dispense medications for students
- Supervision of nurse's office
- Maintaining supplies of the nurse's office
- Contacting parents when students are ill
