Position Overview
The Rental Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the daily rental operational duties of their assigned branch and will report directly to their operations manager.
The position requires the ability to assist in the management of their branches rental fleet, which includes communicating diligently with other departments and customers on pricing and availability, maintaining rental documentation, fleet maintenance oversight, and interdepartmental duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
Reporting & Supporting Positions:
The Rental Coordinator will report directly to the Rental Manager and/or Operations Manager.
Rental Coordinators will oversee Yard and Shop technicians assigned to the department or work designated for rental assets.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Set up Rental Contacts and bill out all additional cost assisted with the rental transaction
- Manage transportation and logistics for all rental, service, and sales equipment for your branch
- Ability to perform visual and physical inspection (In/Out Bound) of our rental assets, checking for condition and potential customer damage.
- Review all service repairs made on rental assets to confirm repair, as well as oversee the assets are in both good visible and working conditions. As well control repairs costs, not to exceed 15% of rental revenue.
- Will have an objective to achieve a fleet utilization of 70% +, As well as coordinate with Operations Manager and/or Asset Manager when additional units are needed to added, due to increased utilization. Also, when units need to be removed from the rental fleet due to age, hours or excusive repair cost.
- Coordinate with the Branch PM Coordinator to ensure all rental units off site are maintained on a regular basis
- Attend monthly Financial Meeting and explain any deviations from the goals/objectives set for your department
- Determine any needed repairs, other than normal wear & tear, that need to be billed back to customer, Customer Damages needs to be quoted within 24 hours of the unit being returned
- Follow company Rental Policies & Procedures, and enforce company Safety Policies
Minimum Education, Skills, and Professionalism
- Minimum High School diploma/GED. College degree or 3-5 years Industry experience preferred.
- A general knowledge of forklifts/material handling equipment.
- A working knowledge & understanding of the operation of a rental fleet.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook skills.
Working Conditions
This position requires one to operate in a professional office environment as well as a shop environment. Workdays will be 80% working from your desk and 20% in the shop or interacting with other departments.
