Wells Branch Municipal Utility District (MUD) has an immediate opening in the Recreation Center for the Recreation & Community Specialist position. We are seeking a trustworthy and energetic individual with exceptional customer service and communication skills to join our team! Position Overview
The Recreation & Community Specialist is a forward-facing, frontline team member that is given the opportunity to provide exceptional customer service and support to WB MUD residents, Recreation Center guests, and recreation program contactors. The role combines unique interactions with our local community for recreation opportunities, as well as traditional utility services. Our team experiences face-to-face interactions, communication via email, and phone engagement with residents, guests, and customers who are inquiring about recreation programs and events, facility rentals and reservations, camp registration, water utility connections and payments, and residential curb-side trash and recycling services. Our team members are all trained in first aid/CPR/AED, and are responsible for light facility cleaning, assisting with special events, and other varying duties.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Must pass a background screening, including previous employment references and criminal history.
- 2-3 years of Customer Service and/or Help Desk experience required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service experiences.
- Proficient computer and data entry skills.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage competing priorities efficiently, detail oriented.
- Must maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Must demonstrate a collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to read, write, and fluently speak English.
Compensation: Non-Exempt / $19 Hourly
Hours: Weekdays 1pm – 9pm and Saturday or Sunday 8am – 6pm (hours subject to change)
Overtime will be necessary based on events and departmental needs and may include evenings, holidays, and weekends.
