As a Community Events Specialist at Contrarian Thinking, you will be responsible for curating, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events that bring our community members together. For example . . .

• You'll play an instrumental role in our annual Main Street Over Wall Street event in Austin each fall, creating a memorable experiences on a grand scale. From planning to execution and post-event evaluation, you'll have an opportunity to help make a lasting impact on all attendees.
• You'll also help organize and oversee our regional events held every few months in various parts of the country. These may include meetups or special occasions that strengthen our ties with communities on a more local basis and provide valuable insights and relationship-building opportunities for our members.
• You'll help empower our community members by facilitating and supporting member-led local events. These grassroots initiatives allow our members to take the lead in organizing gatherings that align with our community's values and interests.
• You'll manage and innovate our virtual events portfolio through engaging Community Calls and experiences that bring our community together, regardless of geographical boundaries.

This position is perfect for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves and help put on amazing events while contributing to our company-wide Community Events strategy. You'll be part of a collaborative team responsible for helping our members create financial freedom through business acquisitions and specifically through the knowledge obtained from, and human connections created through, their membership in the Contrarian Community.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications

Here's a list of primary skills we believe are necessary for this career:

• 2+ years of experience in the areas of event planning, virtual communities, media, or business operations.
• Willing to travel typically no more than once per quarter to help host an in-person event.
• But–this role is NOT for people who want their first job in events. This is for experienced, yet “young in their career” professionals who want to see how a modern community and experience team actually work to scale a bootstrapped and profitable startup.
• Truly craves a startup environment where we are learning, iterating, and shipping things quickly.
• Experience with Zoom and Notion is a plus, but not required. But you will be required to become proficient in those platforms.
• A self-starter; you learn quickly, absorb like a sponge, and take action.
• A problem-solver; uses frameworks to rigorously define and analyze problems, creating solutions.
• A Contrarian - always intrigued by the things others don't notice, always searching for the truth, and up for a debate.

• $70,000/year + performance bonuses
