We are looking for a Real Estate Acquisition Manager to help build and support the infrastructure that powers Microsoft's online services. We work hard, play hard, and make history. We also care about people, growth, excellence, and results.
The Real Estate Acquisition Manager will be based in the United States, report to the North American Director and will be responsible for land acquisition in the allocated North American regions.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a significant contribution and impact to one of the largest data center portfolios. You'll have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to improve and expand our infrastructure in various North American markets.
You'll develop close working relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders, perform market and financial analysis, evaluate property solutions within our standards and guidelines, negotiate data center and other deals, and close them. You should also have a demonstrated ability to negotiate multimillion dollar contracts from business and technical perspectives.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, select, negotiate, and recommend acquisitions for approval.
- Ability to negotiate effectively.
- Manage the acquisition processfor land within assigned geographies, including the management of cross boarder teams formed of multiple client groups, co-workers, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordination with development, engineering, construction, project managers and legal teams amongst others, to enable evaluation of acquisition targets.
- Manage multiple assignments across US and Canada.
- Provide input into the long-term delivery strategy to drive Real Estate Acquisitions that support the Microsoft Cloud transformation.
- This position will require periodic travel to assigned geographies.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years portfolio management, Real Estate, or office management experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree or degree equivalent in Business Management, Real Estate, Project Management, or related field AND 5+ years portfolio management, Real Estate, or office management experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with infrastructure development and technical and business acumen.
- Experience with negotiating legal documents and interacting with legal resources.
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams in the Real Estate and/or development industry.
Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
Real Estate Portfolio Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.
