Are you interested in Behavior? Do you have goals to become a Certified Dog Trainer?
The Dog Trainer is the heart of a great Zoom Room instruction.
At the Zoom Room Seattle, we don’t train dogs. We train the people who love them. We’ve redefined dog training, with classes specially designed to build confidence and success as dogs master skills in a simple, step-by-step process.
If you love dogs and love the idea of helping people learn how to train their dogs, this might be a great fit for you. Our Dog Trainers work with groups of up to 6 dogs and their owners per class, teaching the owners techniques to train their dogs. We have multiple different classes we offer our clients and a large gym area where the classes take place. We teach Puppies, Obedience, Agility, Tricks, and even Life Skills, where we help dogs learn how to be calm in otherwise stressful situations such as having a nail trim.
At Zoom Room Bellevue, we practice only positive reinforcement training methods with a well established approach. We will train you in the Zoom Room Approach to help bring pets and their owners through any level of training needed.
In this role you will:
- Teach classes with dogs of all sizes and breeds
- Help dog owners understand how to motivate their pups, as well as how to have the patience necessary to reinforce the good behavior
- Build relationships with the dogs and their owners to create a safe environment where everyone can have fun
- Properly evaluate clients for appropriate training level and course
- Teach private lessons and group classes following Zoom Room curricula
- Provide empathetic, non-judgmental instruction
- Always use positive training
- Emphasize life-long learning and socialization for all dogs
- Embrace the Zoom Room training methodology wholeheartedly
- Recommend appropriate training equipment as needed
- Sell appropriate retail items after class and upsell during classes
- Maintain order in group classes with humans and dogs
- Properly evaluate any reactivity, aggression, or nervousness issues and provide a solution immediately
- Refer out to a behaviorist or other trainer if the Zoom Room cannot help the client
- Respond immediately to client concerns about dog behavior
- Provide appropriate support and care to clients
- Maximize profitability through strong class enrollments and retention
- Be friendly, cheerful, and helpful!
- When not directly teaching a class, help out on the retail floor and work the register, as well as clean, and stock merchandise
