HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Oversees the collection, production, inventory and indexing of samples to evaluate product quality and adherence to design specifications.
- Perform the quality inspection process for new part samples and record the data.
- You will also be responsible for developing and managing the QC process for all incoming products, which shall include an evaluation of current processes and making recommendations for improving QC to reach -0- defects.
- Check dimensions and surface quality of random batches of finished products to ensure they meet all company quality standards such as mechanical drawings and industry specifications.
- Be proficient in complex GD&T with the ability to inspect close tolerance mechanical parts.
- Inspect all product returns, analyze the defect(s) and document findings (SCAR REPORTS)
- Use metrology equipment including a variety of hand tools, Optical measuring systems, CMMs and various part specific gages to evaluate dimensional conformity and process capability.
- Investigate customer complaints regarding quality issues and elevate to appropriate SME.
- Record, compile and prepare reports for analysis and evaluation (Root Cause). 8D or similar methodology
- Assist in the development of records and standards and ensure the records are accurate, complete, and updated accordingly.
- Instruct Ops in the disposition and/or disposal of products/materials that fall outside the quality control guidelines.
- Assist with the auditing, writing, revising and verification of quality standards and the development of QC forms, records, and reporting methods.
- Analyze QC test results and provide feedback to management.
- Document and implement inspection criteria, policy, and procedures.
- Communicate QC information to management, procurement, and outside vendors.
- Participate in the development of product specifications.
- Implement QC training programs.
- Perform additional duties as may be assigned or requested by management.
- Assist sales team on quality related issues.
- Maintain ISO9001 qualifications.
- Maintain testing standards and specifications.
- Supervise and oversee the quality control department and staff.
- Perform PPAPs from level 1 to level 5 which includes, but not limited to PSW Warrant, Control Plan, Gage R&R, ISIR, PFMEA, CPK, DFMEA, and PFMEA
- Read blueprints and specifications to make sure we adhere to customer requirements.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, engineering, or measurement required or equivalent of 6 years of experience in the field.
- ISO9001 experience required.
- Familiarity with other QMS standards preferred.
- 5 years of product quality experience required.
- Familiarity inventory management utilizing software systems (we run on Finale Inventory)
- A high degree of diligence and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with 6 sigma preferred.
