Title:
Quality Mission Assurance Manager
Position Summary:
KBR is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) manager to support the United States Space Force's (USSF) Satellite Control Network (SCN). The SCN provides highly reliable and secure data transfer, telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3) for more than 195 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall performance of key areas and staff to include quality management. Provides specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including specialized inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, quality tools for problem solving and assessment. Creates inspection reports stating the conditions of a work area to ensure requirements are met. Makes recommendations for corrective action. Applies knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution. Implements principles of performance evaluation and prediction methods are used to improve product systems safety, reliability, and maintainability.
The ideal candidate has experience establishing professional rapport and interacts with the customer on significant Satellite Control Network (SCN) and related needing QA technical guidance. Manager serves as the primary customer interface to ensure customer satisfaction for program quality issues. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ensures awareness and monitors employee compliance with all applicable company, policies, and procedures. This position reports to the Mission Assurance Manager for day-to-day operations.
Supervise Quality department employees and collaborates with KBR National Technologies Group Quality Director and Quality Council/improvement team.
Interacts with external entities responsible for certifying DSLM program quality management system, including customer quality representatives. Decisions have significant impact on program/project schedule and expenditure or efficient use of resources, and overall quality of KBR contractual product deliveries.
Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and monitors organization objectives, work plans, schedules, standard procedures, and metrics to ensure resources are available for completion of all quality organization tasks and assignments
  • Oversees the financial budget, quality performance, technical planning, and development for the program's overall quality effort meeting cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
  • Collaborates/coordinates daily with customer reps to guide related QA strategies, problem solving/management to enable the overall team to better respond to program related problems or issues
  • Oversee program ISO-9001/AS-9100 quality continuous process improvement/audit program.
  • Leads the long-term Quality planning process for the program and drive development processes and solution alternatives for this part of the program team Uses judgment to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices.
  • Conducts and provides minutes for quarterly QA program status reviews and contribute/participate as needed in Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Provide quality related content for program proposals
  • Oversees employee timecard authorization, collection, and signing as well as travel authorizations and expense reports
  • Reviews staff performance against goals. Plans, approves, and implements actions for the timely development and progress of individuals

Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess/capable of obtaining a DoD secret clearance
  • A demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction in relevant tasks to the areas of responsibility/staff (Quality engineering)
  • A proven expertise in the management and control of project tasking and resources.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead, guide/mentor and manage staff in multi-task contracts
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • As a quality manager, possess effective communication skills to deal with external government agencies especially in area of QA management.
  • General knowledge with the SCN or other operation systems including QA processes and management

Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements::
  • Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 7+ years of experience. In lieu of formal education, at least 12 years of similar or related experience in business areas described above
  • Professional management degree/certification highly desired.

Basic Compensation:
Salary Range: $112,000 - 140,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
