Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy that ensures the highest levels of quality and reliability in our products and support agile methodologies
- Lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications and systems
- Implement and champion the continuous enhancement of testing methodologies, systems, software, and processes, including test management tools, focusing on automation to optimize efficiency and reduce testing time
- Manage a growing team of test engineers and guide external teams to improve testing quality
- Collaborate closely with developers and project teams to identify, prioritize, and address defects, ensuring timely resolution and high-quality deliverables
- Drive the documentation of test results and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with quality standards and project objectives
- Participate actively in code and design reviews to promote testability and maintainability of software products
- Manage and maintain test data, environments, and cross-functional relationships to embed quality within the software development life cycle
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in software testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity
- Profound understanding of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices
- Strong capabilities in test automation tools and frameworks such as Postman/Newman, Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG
- Hands-on knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
- Practical experience with test management tools like Zephyr Enterprise, PractiTest, TestRail, etc.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience building test/QA engineering functions preferred
- Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD preferred
- ISTQB or similar certification is preferred
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools is a plus
Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000
Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
