Quality Assurance Manager

CSS has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Manager t for our EPA mobile laboratory program, in our Emergency Response and Disaster Recovery division, located in Castle Rock and in Edison NJ.
The primary function of the mobile laboratories is to provide on-site and remote NELAP accredited chemical analysis during an Incident of National Significance - analysis on-site of all sample matrices (air, soil, water, and surface wipe) for the presence of toxic industrial chemicals, chemical warfare agents and their breakdown products. This position will require background screening and US citizenship, and participation in medical monitoring.
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of a QA program
• Maintaining NELAP and ERLN Certifications.
• Overseeing the development ann annual review of Quality Management Plans, Project Quality Assurance Project Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, and the development and maintenance of the document control procedures.
• Implementation of the quality procedures in both the Edison, NJ and Castle Rock, CO facilities.
• The performance of internal audits to verify program implementation, oversight of NELAP and EPA Performance Test Sample analysis, participation in external QA audits. PT sample analysis programs are required to verify the QA program is functioning properly.
• QC review of preliminary data
• QC review and approval of level 4 (CLP-like) data packages.

Qualifications:

• BS in Chemistry or other physical science
• 6 - 10 years of experience in environmental laboratory operations, with experience in EPA methods in organic environmental analysis.
• Experience with LIMS and instrument operating software.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an environmental laboratory.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen, medical monitoring exam, and Government Background check
• Familiar with a variety of analytical chemistry concepts, practices, and procedures including EPA SW-846 methods and EPA Air Methods.
• Knowledgeable in EPA Quality Assurance programs and compliance with NELAP standards
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
