What to expect:
You will be part of a senior Quality Engineering team managing and executing a variety of evaluation, assessment, and remediation activities that this client is conducting to meet the demanding needs of their customers in the aerospace & defense industries. Once on the team, you will be directed by the client onsite and supported by SQA's operations center. This is a 3-Month contract-to-hire opportunity in which you will be supporting our client on-site in Everett, WA on a full-time basis.
What you'll do:
In this role, you will work with Client to coordinate the facility's quality interactions and all quality-related functions; develop management tools and strategies to ensure that Client meets Customer, AS9100, and Nadcap expectations for quality compliance, certifications, and inter-company communication.
Quality Engineering duties may consist of the following but is not limited to:
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key customer representatives.
Driving timely root cause analysis and implementation of permanent preventative and corrective actions for quality issues working directly with manufacturing teams, customers and suppliers.
Developing and establishing quality management system procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer specifications and contract requirements.
Supporting AS9100, NADCAP and Customer Audits.
Performing internal product and process audits, and external supplier audits ensuring compliance with Quality Management System. Develop and initiate programs to improve internal and supplier performance.
Using methodical and systemic analytical approaches to perform effective RCCA's. Assesses quality performance trends and leads improvement efforts.
Writing work instructions, process, and procedure documents to ensure compliance with product, process, customer, and system requirements.
Developing statistical process controls by applying and maintaining applicable control charts, providing training and coaching of others throughout the organization in SPC methodology.
Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continual improvement, lean manufacturing, 5s', and cost reduction activities to areas of production.
Compile and write training material and conducts training sessions on quality-related activities.
Providing Quality support for Manufacturing and Design Engineering group with identifying opportunities for improvement, while reviewing drawings, manufacturing sketches, change requests, routings and other engineering-related documentation.
What you'll need:
SQA Associates in the role have 8 plus years of industry experience, and hold an engineering degree or equivalent experience. They possess special training in quality assurance and broad knowledge of the tools and techniques to use to measure and assure product quality, RCCA, Failure Analysis, 8D, and Six Sigma methodologies. They are trained or certified on quality system requirements (e.g., ISO 9001:2015,AS 9001 Rev D) and experienced in more specialized quality tools such as APQP and problem resolution techniques (e.g., RCCA, 8D, 5 WHY)
Because of the nature of the products, US Citizenship is also a requirement and background checks are required.
Pay Rate:
$35-40/hr
