The Laredo, TX Distribution Center, a 187,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7; is currently seeking aQuality Control Inspectorto join our team!The essential function of this position is to perform outbound product inspections to ensure product meets customer specifications. Inspections include verification and validation of product, packaging, labeling, sizing and weight.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Physically inspect tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers grown in our greenhouse farms.
- Conduct Quality Control inspections to confirm product meets criteria, which includes color, size, condition and weight of produce and accept/reject appropriately.
- Report non-conformance findings to responsible department Supervisor/Lead.
- Ensure allocation is followed, validate correct product is pulled and shipped to customer.
- Report non-conformance findings to responsible department Supervisor/Lead.
- Verify that all labeling specifications are adhered to.
- Flex between Production and Shipping Dock to ensure all "hot" orders are inspected.
- Collect data and generate a non-compliance report for all items on receiving dock.
- Utilize JDA and NAV to input product status updates.
- Ensure Product packaging is in quality condition for our customers.
- Performs any other Quality Control Inspection related tasks or special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High School degree or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 1-year work experience required. Work experience in a warehouse environment, produce/grocery industry is a plus.
- Experience in Quality Control/Inspection/Auditor work experience is desired.
- Ability to use and read measuring devices such as scales, calipers, ruler.
- Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
Working Conditions:
- Work in our refrigerated warehouse, 50-degree controlled temperature zones
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation
