Title of Position – Quality Control (QC) Inspector
Location – Houston, TX
Reports to – Supply Chain Inventory Manager
Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, and assemblies. The primary duty involves ensuring compliance with specified acceptance criteria and industry standards, contributing to the overall quality of products.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Understand product acceptance criteria listed on detailed drawings and specifications
- Use measuring equipment to verify component features, including size and position
- Verify records and/or certificates for compliance against specified acceptance criteria
- Document all nonconforming conditions via NCR (Non-Conformance Report) and obtain disposition
- Access, interpret, and apply information published in industry standards (API, ANSI, ASME, etc.)
- Identify process deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Assist Quality Assurance with measurement, analysis, and improvement activities
- Flexibility to work in other positions such as assembly line or inventory control when needed
- Perform Source Inspection at NCS Suppliers as needed
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Participate in regular meetings to provide insights into quality performance and improvement initiatives
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
- Support and uphold HS&E policies and procedures of NCS and the customer
- Align individual goals with NCS corporate goals, while adhering to the NCS Promise
- Participate in your Personal Development for Success (PDS)
- Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months related experience
- Experience using a variety of inspection tools and equipment
- Demonstrates group presentation skills
- Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
- Ability to contribute to building a positive team spirit; exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; adapts well to new technologies and procedures
- Applies feedback to improve performance by demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, as well as demonstrate a strong ability with concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, industry standards, quality procedures and assembly work instructions
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Knowledge of work processing software; spreadsheet software; database software and electronic mail software
- Basic knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge and the application of ISO 9001
- Employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs

- Employment Classification: Full-time, Regular
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday during business hours
- Travel: Less than 5% domestic and international travel may be required
