JOB TITLE: Quality Control Machinist/ CoatingInspector

Summary: Quality Inspector with a background in machinist inspection is responsible to implement into daily operations the requirements of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) policies, procedures, Work Instructions, and Operational Procedures, and Product Data Specification. Works as a cohesive team member coordinating with the Quality Team, Production and Quality Management. Communicates on a routine daily basis issues and problems that arise to the Manager of Quality Assurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quality: The skill sets needed for this position are based on Quality Control inspection and assurance experience, GD&T Principles and Practices, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, and Lean Manufacturing Practices/Metrics/Reporting.
- Working knowledge of Thermal Spray HVOF, Plasma & Jet Kote. Possesses understanding and inspection experience of applied thermal coating on compressor and turbines components.
- Ability to interface effectively with machinists, support groups, customers, management, and team members.
- Ensures product conformity to establish requirements by evaluating product to customer and/or engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Working safely every day and supporting efforts to maintain an injury free workplace.
- The inspector conducts receiving, in-process and final product inspections, and documents results in various reports/logs in the Quality System Network. Reports & Records: Collect, compile, measure, summarize, record, and report on technical data.
- Utilizing these analyses to create detailed reports for submission in meeting customer requirements and approvals. Trains other Quality Control inspectors in (GD&T) methods and practices for preparing inspection, analysis, and reports. Assists in providing Quality Control inspections of all coating products applied by Southwest Impreglon.
- Assists and trains other Quality Control personnel to perform detail precision inspections of parts/components and prepares detailed reports. Realizes the value in sharing knowledge.
- Personnel & Teamwork: This position demonstrates behavior & performance to effectively contribute to a supportive and cohesive team.
- Perform Quality Control inspection in all phases of Southwest Impreglon operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of inspection experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) Principles and Practices. Extensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gages, bore gauges, and dial indictors. Good manual dexterity and adept in use of precision measuring tools.
- Basic Machining Knowledge.
- Proficient in reading/interpreting drawings/prints.
- Maintain and track all inspection equipment calibrations.
- Experience completing and documenting first article inspections.
- Experience in measuring software, a plus.
- High School Diploma and proficient in writing (related work) reports.
- Near Vision Acuity of 20/30 (Correction allowed).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, Specifically Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Must possess appropriate mathematical and analytical skills to determine acceptability of product(s) based on established criteria.
- Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Self-motivated and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends.
- Understanding of NDE Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Inspection Requirements.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
