Summary


Primarily responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of the Hyundai Engineering America, Inc. Metaplant Construction project and operational processes through designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, and processes, and developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related area.

State approved license preferred.

3 years experience on live construction site preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with construction related documentation, submittals, drawings, reports, etc.

Experience with subcontractor procurement and contract administration.

In-depth knowledge of construction industry regulations.

Microsoft office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and PDF experience.

Proficiency with AutoCAD.

Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Essential Functions

Overall QC management for:

On-site quality management:

1. Collaborate with the Quality Control Manager to develop and implement project-specific quality control plans.

2. Assist with the implementation of quality control systems.

3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality control inspections, tests, and results.

4. Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.

5. Conduct inspections of construction materials, workmanship, and installations to ensure compliance with project specifications.

6. Suggest corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.


Communicate, negotiate and handle matters with Sub-Contractor:

1. Coordinate the review of quality plans/programs/qualifications as submitted by consultants, contractors, or vendors.

2. Assist with evaluating Contractor capabilities to provide required quality and maintain schedule.

3. Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance.


Material Receiving and Receiving Inspection and Document Management:

1. Work with suppliers to make sure all the components and raw materials meet the organization's quality standards.

2. Coordinate material submittals and Material Delivery Verification Forms to certify ordered material/equipment is in compliance with drawings and specifications.

3. Maintain records of quality control operations, activities, tests, and inspections performed including the work of subcontractors and suppliers.


Create quality reports that analyze internal and external quality standards.

Review of the adequacy of the results of the plant/acquisition/process/final test.

Coordinate with other team members, and participate in meetings on request.

Collaborate with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.

Management of the third party testing agency: Arrange with testing laboratory to perform required tests on all materials proposed for use on project.

Review and maintain compliance with government regulations and ordinances.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a variety of environments ranging from the office to construction sites, which may involve working near moving mechanical parts, equipment, or machinery on rough or uneven surfaces, and exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, odors, gas, oils, fumes, extreme temperatures, or heights. May occasionally be exposed to inclement or hazardous conditions including but not limited to inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, and intense noises and travel; requiring moderate physical activities.
